Which Lampe Berger Replacement Wick Should I Buy?

***** UPDATE: Today there is a new Lampe Berger replacement burner / wick that replaces all the previous options available. The new Air Pur 3P catalytic burner and wick is designed to work better and last longer in both air conditioned spaces and outdoors. *****

Are you confused about which Lampe Berger replacement burner / wick is best for you and your fragrance lamp? If so, you are not alone. Lampe Berger currently offers four different replacement wicks and it is not easy to determine which one you should buy.

First, let's cover some basic information about the Lampe Berger catalytic burner / wick you have in your fragrance lamp to determine if you really need to buy a replacement burner / wick. Each Lampe Berger fragrance lamp comes with a catalytic / wick burner. The wick absorbs the fragrance oil from the lamp and the ceramic burner with platinum rim creates a catalysis that purifies the air in your home while destroying bad smells. Unfortunately, the burner / wick does not last forever. With proper use and regular maintenance your burner / wick should last about one year or 200 uses, which ever occurs first.

Occasionally, we hear from somebody that is having trouble keeping their relatively new and unused Lampe Berger burner / wick lit. If you are one of these people you may want to consider reading this blog article to trouble shoot the issue before spending money on a new wick.

So, if it's time to replace your Lampe Berger wick you need to figure out which one of the four is best for you. Here is some information about each along with recommendations from Lampe Berger USA.

1. Basic Lampe Berger Catalytic Burner / Wick

Basic Lampe Berger Burner / Wick
The Basic Wick is the one that is included with all Lampe Berger fragrance lamps when originally purchased. For the average size room, it works best when burned for approximately 20 minutes. Its cost is the lowest available among the four wick options. If your fragrance lamp has always worked fine for you with the original burner / wick that it came with, we recommend that you purchase another one of these or the new Lampe Berger Air Control Wick (see below).

2. Lampe Berger Air Control Burner / Wick

Lampe Berger Air Control WickThe Air Control Wick was introduced in 2016. It is similar to the Basic Wick but it has a little more platinum on it so it burns at a higher temperature. It is called Air Control because it is designed to work better and last longer in air-conditioned spaces. It even stays hot and works properly if placed directly under a vent. Its cost is the same as the Basic Wick featured above. According to Lampe Berger USA, they have had excellent results with this new Air Control Wick and are considering replacing the Basic Wick with it this year.

3. Lampe Berger 3C Burner / Wick - Short

Lampe Berger 3C Burner / Wick - ShortThe Lampe Berger 3C Burner / Wicks are the standard wicks included with all fragrance lamps sold outside the US. The 3C has a slightly different design and special coating that disperses more fragrance quicker and into larger areas. It functions best when used daily and for longer periods of time during each use. Otherwise, you may experience problems with the burner becoming too saturated to stay lit. Also, proper use and regular maintenance, as mentioned above, is very important for this burner / wick. Burning the initial flame too long can cause the special coating to become damaged. The cost of this burner / wick is about twice as much when compared to the Basic Wick and Air Control Wick.

4. Lampe Berger 3C Burner / Wick - Long

Lampe Berger 3C Burner / Wick - LongThe long version of the Lampe Berger 3C Burner / Wick is essentially the same as the one mentioned above but with a longer wick. It is designed with a longer wick to work optimally when used with taller Lampe Berger fragrance lamps. The cost of this longer version 3C Burner / Wick is the same as the short version (about twice as much when compared to the Basic Wick and Air Control Wick).

We hope this information has helped you decide which Lampe Berger wick is best for you when it is time to replace yours.

    Yvette,

Right now there are only two style wicks available from Lampe Berger. You can see them here:https://fragranceoilsdirect.com/collections/lampe-berger-accessories The shorter one which is the basic air control wick, is the one we suggest using.

I have a small Lampe Berger which I love. It’s very handy for small spaces. I used to be able to buy the replacement wicks at a retail store long closed. Do you still have any? Thank you.
